Autoclave PC Bottle-Advantage
of Closure System available from PG-USA Polycarbonate Bottles.
Our
PC media bottles are designed to withstand high temperature
and pressure of a steam sterilizer. Due to the nature
of the resin the bottles need to be cooled down to prevent
implosion (caving in). PG-USA has created a uniquely designed
cap/closure system to prevent interchange of external
particulate matter during the cooling period. To allow
temperature equilibration the caps need to be left loose,
however this does not affect the sterility of the product.
Suggested
Instructions:
1.
Unscrew
the caps to fill in the desired liquid to be sterilized.
After filling leave the cap loosely (unengaged)
on the bottle neck*
2.
Leave at least 20 % – 25% void volume to allow
cooling.
3.
Place bottles even distance apart and set the autoclave
for wet cycle according to your sterilization protocol.
4.
After completion of cycle, allow the bottles to
reach room temperature. Tighten the cap to appropriate
torque setting.
*The
bottles each have a 20% overfill capacity (1liter
bottles can accommodate almost 1250 ml).
